Privacy Policy

Codebase Cartography analyzes your projects on your own computer. The app does not collect personal data, and your code, file paths, maps, and exports are never sent to us or to anyone else.

01 · Summary

The short version

Local

Analysis stays on your device

Scanning, analysis, and export all run locally. No cloud processing is involved.

No tracking

No telemetry or analytics

The app has no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting service, or account system.

Your control

You decide what to share

Exported files are created where you choose, and only you decide whether to share them.

02 · The app

How the app handles information

Project data

When you select a folder, Codebase Cartography reads the files in it to build Project, Feature, and Content Maps and related analysis. File contents, file paths, generated maps, and analysis results remain on your device unless you choose to export or share them. The app does not transmit project data to Harrison Creative, LLC or to any third party.

Information stored on your device

To remember your work between sessions, the app stores the following in its local application data folder:

  • Settings, saved presets, theme choices, exclusions, and scan limits.
  • Recently used project and export folders. On macOS, this includes the security-scoped bookmarks that let the app reopen folders you selected without asking again.
  • Consent and export-acknowledgement records.
  • Security audit logs, in which scanned folder paths are hashed rather than written in full.
  • Crash logs, if the app encounters a fatal error. These are written locally and are never uploaded.

On macOS, the app runs in the App Sandbox. Its data stays inside the app's container, and it can reach only folders that you select through the system file picker.

Network use

The app does not send data over the network. It has no telemetry, analytics, advertising, cloud sync, or remote accounts. Links to our website or to app stores open in your web browser only when you click them. App updates are delivered by the store you installed from.

Exports

Exports are files you create in a location you choose. They may contain sensitive project information, including anything the built-in secret detection does not catch. Once exported, those files are under your control. Please review them before sharing.

Clearing local data

Open System Tools → Resets → Clear Project Cache… to remove saved presets, recent folders, exclusions, cached scan results, saved folder access, and Automation authorization. Exported map files are not deleted. Uninstalling the app removes the app. On macOS, its remaining data is in ~/Library/Containers/com.harrisoncreativellc.codebasecartography. On Windows, its data is in C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Packages\HarrisonCreativeLLC.Codebase-Cartography_… (the folder name ends with a publisher code), which Windows deletes when you uninstall the app.

03 · App stores

Purchases and store data

If you get Codebase Cartography from the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store, that store processes your purchase, download, and payment under its own privacy policy. Stores may give developers aggregated sales and usage reports, and crash reports from users who have chosen to share them with developers. These reports do not include your project files or analysis results, and we use them only to understand and improve the app.

04 · Contacting us

When you email us

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you and resolve your request. We do not sell it or add it to marketing lists. You may ask us to delete your correspondence at any time.

Please do not send source code, credentials, or exported maps unless we specifically need them to diagnose a problem. If you do, remove any secrets first.

05 · This website

codebasecartography.com

This website uses no cookies or advertising. Your choice of animated background is saved in your browser's local storage so that it persists between visits. It is never sent to us, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.

To count visits, the website uses GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service that sets no cookies and does not track you across sites. For each page view it records the page address, the referring site, your browser and operating system, your screen size category, your language, and your country, which is derived from your IP address. Your IP address itself is not stored. We see only aggregate totals, which we use to understand how people find the website. Browsers and extensions that block analytics prevent this counting. The app itself never contacts GoatCounter.

Our hosting provider may keep standard web server logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors.

06 · Other

Children, rights, and changes

Children

Codebase Cartography is a software-development tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights

Because the app does not collect personal data, we hold none about you from your use of it. If you have corresponded with us, you may ask to access, correct, or delete that correspondence by emailing us.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data handling changes, we will update this page and its "Last updated" date. If a change affects the app's first-run agreement, the app may ask for your consent again.
